Might be. I think there are two tiers of employee pricing, but I'm not sure how one qualifies for the other category.

I assume that the 1% under is for affiliates, etc and the 3% for actual Chrysler employees.

Yeah, looks like it's up to 5% for employees, family members, etc. and 1% for "friends." The family members are pretty inclusive though if you look at that sheet and I would qualify for the up to 5% discount. And, according to that sheet, it does appear that you can negotiate even further down from that.

We actually have to choose who's discount we want to use. Family member says he thinks his is 3% below invoice, but we have a family friend that is pretty high up in Chrysler (VP) that apparently will get an even better discount according to others that have used one of his control numbers in the past. Guess we can get both control numbers and have the dealer run them both and see what yields the biggest discount.

Thankfully, the dealers around here are much more willing to deal below invoice. They're even advertising below invoice prices to customers right now without control numbers or anything. Had one dealer said he would not only give me the discount for employees, but exceed that. There's lots more competition here in Michigan for domestic vehicles so that could be the reason for more aggressive pricing.

All this talk and I'm still a long way off. Plan on waiting until I see what my bonus is at the end of the year to put towards the down payment. Could order now and let it ride, but if it isn't as big as I expected, I'll be like Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation with the Jelly of the Month Club.

I just ordered my 2014 Citadel a few days ago, after raking the poor local dealer over the coals for a few weeks. He was very nice about it -- and says the current production is "running 6 to 8 weeks as the norm... but is this time period 'the norm'??" -- meaning, approaching Christmas.

Chrysler shuts down production for the week between Christmas and New Years. So I'll either get one which was put together by employees happy and giddy over Santa coming, and in a mood to get it done by Christmas as a "good deed" -- or a group of people hung over after partying like it's 1999. Oy!!

I am so torn between color selections, I'm not sure what to do. He said he might possibly still be able to change it on Monday.

What are you torn between? What are your top choices?

Sandstone and Granite.

Sandstone is a color I've never owned. Granite-like colors seem to be EVERYWHERE, but will probably have greater resale appeal. Both would still have the Light Frost interior because I can't take Black on Black on Black on Black, any more.

There were only three colors that I saw that concealed dirt and dust really well: Silver, White and Sandstone. I've owned the other two -- more than once.

I think most of us here that ordered well after the order banks originally opened in mid-August had about the same wait.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Ordered mine on Monday. Have a VON number, but I go to VOTS and put in my last name and the VON and nothing happens even when I click submit. Is the website malfunctioning or is it just perhaps too early to get any info? Would be nice if the website actually said something instead of just me clicking and nothing happening.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Too early maybe. Took 3 or 4 days. Then all it said was Scheduled for Production.

The VOTS site is, um, tempermental. Keep trying, but just know that it really only updates about once per day around 8:30 am ET.

You should get an email once the vehicle hits any of the actual milestones.

Re: 2014 Durango production

Per my Dad's contact at the Jefferson North Plant, my R/T has been painted!!

Additional good news was that this one went straight through with no mistakes or repairs to the paint or finish (no sandthroughs or anything like that).

Also, an FYI for those ordering soon. The Jefferson North Plant's paint shop is going to be taken apart over the Christmas downtime (starting the 20th) and reconstructed with a new system. Per my Dad, there are usually issues with the first vehicles that go through after the rebuild and the new system calibration so I would hold off on ordering.
