Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes
Yeah, I went through some of the same stuff that delayed mine for a while. First, a scratched front fender that required painting, then the first and second recalls on the rear control arms. Got the car two weeks ago and have about 400 miles on it. Just had the u-connect update today, and they verified that one of my rear control arms still needed to be replaced, but that I was in no danger of a failed control arm by waiting a week to have it replaced.
A bit of a hassle, for sure, but this is an awesome vehicle that I am very impressed with. My 2012 JGC Overland was the nicest vehicle I have owned until now, but the 2015 Durango R/T (Blacktop edition) is measurably better in sporty handling, cargo capacity and just plain good looks. And those looks and handling were greatly improved by getting rid of the black wheels and adding Factory Reproduction 20X9 Viper machine/black rims and Nitto Terra Grappler 285/50/20 AT tires, including spare (yes, there's room for it.) Plenty of clearance for the tires all around, and although my hearing is not what it used to be, I really don't think they are any noisier than stock!
And the Beats audio system was definitely worth the wait. I'm no audiophile, but the sound is measurably better than the JGC Overland's, IMO.
Looking forward to many happy years and more modifications to come. Next up: Corsa exhaust system, Legmaker CAI and Billet Technologies catch can.
