Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

Sorry Dontcallme, I was mostly poking at how SLOW these forums are. I've never seen such slow discussion and limited useful information. It's a cool truck but obviously enough of a niche that very few people get involved.

I like the wheels enough that I may delete blacktop package to get them. May go granite Crystal now, not sure. Funny how they announce since NY Auto show that the red leather and beats are 2015 options but they are going to stop production of 2015's sometime late summer I assume so it's more like a 2016 option that a few 2015ers might get.

It's cool, I picked up on the quiet thing and knew that was your more important point. I always just figure if I don't give myself credit, who else will?

The Durango section is definitely quieter here, but not surprising on a site called Jeep Garage. That said, there are definitely several very cool things and still a good amount of information specific to Durangos, so it's worth visiting. Maybe we can work on ratcheting up the traffic ourselves.

It also looks like it comes in waves a bit, because there was definitely a lot of stuff posted when the 2014 was introduced. Maybe this is the start of the next one?

Also, I agree with your theory that the 2015 being the last MY is exactly the rumor it seems to be.

I do not think porting the basic underpinnings to a luxury Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a reason the get rid of the sporty cousin.

Grand Wagoneer can be luxury and compete with Tahoe, Denali, Escalade, Infiniti, etc... Durango sells too well in its segment to get rid of. Maybe drop citidel and add SRT. Dodge is the "performance" branch after all. Get the Caravan out of here though, leave that to Chrysler.

Just saw website updated to show new wheels, they are pretty cool but want to see closer pics.

I believe that's about when they start the process to retool for the next model year. Stop production and factory orders and then try to clear stock then reopen order banks in the late summer or fall for 2016's. I bought my Jeep JK in April 2 years ago and they only made 2013's a couple more months before starting production on 2014's. Unless there is some drasticly different time frame on Durangos then what they typically run on jeeps, that is.

Picture of front door speaker grill from auto show R/T, red leather and newest R/T wheels.

Doesn't look like "Alpine" to me, more like the beats "b" followed by lower case "beats" which I think is a newer logo since apple acquired.

What's everyone think?

Confirmed that's the Beats logo so 2 months ago they showed a "real" 2015 at Detroit but still aren't producing them

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

Emailed FCA last night and got a response quick. No substance really do nothing major to add.

"Durango will be available with Beats later this year. Nothing that is currently in dealer stock has Beats, but once it is available, it should be listed on this window sticker if the vehicle does have Beats."

Wow, how helpful of them. So all we need to do is keep checking the window stickers of vehicles on the lot to see when Beats arrives?

I believe the Beats system was originally scheduled to go into production on April 6. Maybe Milous will post a status update this week?
C'mon FCA, we're all waiting to order our Durangos with this new audio system!

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

I replied:
"I planned on ordering tonight or tomorrow. Will a dealer order get it? I assume it will be queued for production for a few days into April with delivery not expected for 6 weeks. "

And response:
"No, it is not currently available for dealers to order -- that will be available later this year."

Sad to say that it doesn't sound too promising however technically it's still not descriptive since later this year could be tomorrow or September.

Milous we need your help Sir. I've been following this thread as its second poster for over 6 months. Please give me some good news so I can go spend money.
