I'd love to understand why an option would show up on a dealer order sheet over a month before it's rumored to actually go into production.

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

I think factory orders generally take 6-8 weeks from placing the order until production, so that timing seems about right.

My sales rep has expressed frustration with the factory for not being more forthcoming with information updates on these various new additions like Beats. They know nothing about them till they show up on the ordering guide. I've been providing info to him from what I learn here! He has a couple of sales pending on Ram trucks that are awaiting some particular new item, and he's afraid they may be putting them off till the 2016 production, which is apparently not that far off. I hope that's not the case with the Durango and Beats!

Let's hope Thursday the 14th is the day.

So are we hearing still no beats? I also heard ram orders are getting flipped to 2016 orders. I figured the Durango was going to go 2016 in the fall but maybe they are shortening the 2015 life and just rolling out the new features as 2016.

There are buyers on the DodgeDurango.net forums who have received their vehicles 3-4 weeks after placing their orders, which means production would have started within what, a week of the order submission maybe?

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

Milous, any chance you can enlighten us on what's going on here, both on Beats and the possible timeline for switchover to the 2016 Durango?

Thanks.

Never having owned an FCA product, they certainly aren't building a sense of confidence with me.

At this point I'm almost wondering if I should just wait for the 2016 models, just in case they throw in some kind of surprise to keep things fresh. New color options? A new gizmo or two?

The 2016 Explorers and Pilots will be hitting dealer lots soon. I wouldn't want to be the guy still selling 2015 models while my competitors have moved into the next model year.

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

Yeah, I hope we can get a straight answer to the 2016 switchover timeframe. It would be really irritating to order a 2015 now and have the 2016 switchover announced in the next week or two!

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

2015 Production ends November 21st, I can't imagine that changing. Announcement for the 2015 happened in September and I imagine it'd be similar again. Not saying people shouldn't hold out for 2016's but those timeframes would seem to be what that entails.

If the Rams are already rolling to 2016 MY, did they do the same in May/June of last year?

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

It looks like they pulled it in a month a year over the last few years, but doesn't look like they changed scheduling (which makes sense).

Details from here. Note the final fleet order date of 5/29 for 2015 Durango. Hoping that I've ordered before that, but also that it's not the last date anyone can order?

Anyway, do with this info what you will.

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

I guess it is feasible that that 2015s are done and they are going to open Durango orders up in the late summer for early fall delivery. Every week I wait it does seem more likely that itsjustgoing to be a longer wait for a 2016.

Milous, any updates since your date of the 12th has come and gone?

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

I don't think that's quite right. According to the website I linked to, orders for 2016 Durangos won't open until October 26th with a production start of November 30th and let's see what happens tomorrow. That *seems* to be the day.
