Re: 22x10 or 22x9 Viper reps on R/T?

Yeah I only got about 2k miles on them and so far so good. But will put the stockers back on for winters here with blizzarks!

I almost went with black wheels on my wifes D also but glad I went with the machined in stead!

Re: 22x10 or 22x9 Viper reps on R/T?

I know black is almost used up, but still looks good on the right vehicle. Machine finish looks right at home on yours. I am keeping my black 20" stockers for winter also. Too much salt used on the roads here in the winter.

Re: 22x10 or 22x9 Viper reps on R/T?

Here it is, finally, got the 22's back from powder and installed the Toyo tires, full clear bra on any rock chip prone area. tinted windows/tail lights and lowered the back end...the wife likes the r/t better than her '12 overland (never thought I would live down selling the overland but she is glad I did now) Thanks for all the help here.

Thanks! I went with toyo proxis st2 285/40/22 on 22x9 factory reproductions viper wheel all the way around. I had them powder coated satin black instead of the gloss black. I lowered the back by removing the springs and had a shop cut off a piece off the top of the spring and bend it back so it would sit in the rubber isolator like it should. The rear now is only about 1/4 inch higher than the front and just looking at it it looks perfectly level. I did not want to lower the front at all because the R/T is already lowered enough especially when you throw on 22" wheels and 285/40's it really looks just right. The ride quality has not changed at all because we only removed a 3" piece of the coil. We get compliments everywhere we go..."thats a Durango?"...lol...
lowering the back really gives it the extra something it needed. Looks more SRT-ish!

wow thats interesting, awesome to know...I dont tow and never will so I was considering a similar major mod to the existing suspension,
or buying a set of eibachs or OE spares to chop up/experiment with...

Hows the toyos? quiet and grippy? i was torn between those and nittos but ended up settling on whichever I could find cheaper ( nittos) since i liked both equally..

I was looking at the nittos cause I love the look, but was talked out of them because i was told they are a little noisy after awhile. Toyo actually makes nitto tires, one in the same. I have had several sets of toyo MT tires on trucks and hummers and LOVE them. so just went with what I know best. They are very quiet and smooth. A little pricier but not much. This is the wifes car so I have to make it as comfortable as I can.
