I like mine too...

I'm only over here to see what news Milous brings but since I dropped myself into this discussion I'll say that I took the time to look at Jeep's website and clearly the Summit is really nice. If I didn't need 3 rows I'd seriously consider buying one (though the rest of the lineup look like to 2-row Durangos to me ).

These don't look all that different in interior quality to me

Durango vs. Grand Cherokee

^^It does to me. Especially around the vents. The Durango looks pretty cheap and the center console is just all black plastic.

OK. So this is my point: It looks better to you and many others. This is not the same as it is better. Some of you are discussing this as if it's fact when it's actually an opinion based on a bias that the brand (designed by the same company, assembled on the same production line) is somehow intrinsically better. I grant that the Summit is a step up much like the Escalade is a step up from a high-end Yukon (not that I would ever buy either but I digress...).

Durango vs. Grand Cherokee

But it's not just the Summit that offers better finishes. The Overland, High Altitude and SRT do as well.

It seems factual to me. The point has been made in the past by FCA that Jeep (the GC specifically) is purposely being pushed to be upscale and it shows. The interior of the Durango is minimalistic and low grade plastic everywhere. And I'm sure that's how they intended it to be, it's a dodge. That's why FCA is coming out with a Grand Wagoneer. It will fill the gap that the Durango does not fill.

Re: Durango vs. Grand Cherokee

The Durango has interior materials like a limited not an overland or summit. No arguing that point. Also no arguing the point that the Durango is basically a three row stretched JGC and a heck of a bargain. I have actually owned both vehicles put about 20k miles on the WK2 and have about 5k on my 2016 R/T so I think I have a pretty good handle on these two trucks. I really enjoyed my WK2 but I actually like the Durango even more and so does my wife. That being said we only moved to the Durango because we needed three rows. There is a major stigma against dodge. We didn't test drive the Durango until the last moment we never even thought of it. We drove all of the other three row SUV and CUV options with second row captains and didn't like anything other than the model X which was 120 grand for a kid hauler. When we test drove the Durango my wife said this is exactly like your jeep except drives better ordered one a few days later. Heck of a lot of vehicle for 45k. My only complaint is that there is a major stigma against dodge, people at work actually make fun of the fact that I drive a dodge, I find it comical. People here also clearly have issues mentioning the Durango in the same breath as the jeep. At the end of the day both are great trucks.

Will be interesting if FCA brings the SRT Durango to market next year. If so I will trade the R/T in for it, bet it has an upgraded interior for whatever it's worth....it's the reason I still periodically check this forum for milious updates.

Those statements have no place on the internet. You can start a 26 page argument on whether 2+2= 4

No wonder you'd drive a Dodge.

Re: Durango vs. Grand Cherokee

I am excited about the DSRT as well. Hope it is understated like the GCSRT is with all of the exterior finishes. I don't want anything to crazy looking. I'll be looking for a new kid hauler by the time it comes out as the 2011 Grand Caravan is paid off and has 71K on the odo

My only hope is that when it comes out FCA also shows the public what the Wagoneer will look like. I may be willing to wait an extra year if it looks great.
