Question Heated Steering Wheel - Year to Year Differences

We have a '14 Durango and a '16 Durango both with the heated steering wheels.

Question is - the wheel in the '14 gets stupid hot even on warmer winter days. The wheel in the '16 does not get nearly as warm, ever.

Was the spec for maximum temperature changed between model years?

Re: Heated Steering Wheel - Year to Year Differences

We just switched from 14 to 17 and I didn't feel any difference in temp. If any the newer one heats a little faster, but it may be just a feeling and not fact.

Re: Heated Steering Wheel - Year to Year Differences

I'm pretty sure there's an issue, but since there are no codes and the wheel warms up and steps through a range of temps....

Did you '14 and does the '17 wheel get really hot, or just warm?

Re: Heated Steering Wheel - Year to Year Differences

I believe It did get quite hot a few times on both. But I need to pay closer attention to be sure.

Re: Heated Steering Wheel - Year to Year Differences

Thanks. I was hoping Milous or someone else in the "know" would chime in with some sort of spec...
