HVAC recirculate air will not stay ON!

So i noticed this, everytime i am about to be in a underground tunnel, i hit the recirculate button, but by the end of the tunnel, i'm sucking in exhaust fumes because it turned itself off.

does anyone have this issue? i have the issue regardless of whether A/C is on. it seems to turn itself off after a few minutes. The feature itself does work, when it is recirculating, i do not smell the exhaust fumes in the car that i am following.

I don't have your problem but the ac will shut off every time I put the system on auto. The temple true never seems to be correct if I set it for 72 it blows cold if I raise it to 73 it blows hot. I have to constant ally change the setting. Another thing is when I set the back air at a pitiful are setting the setting will automatically change by itself when the system is set to manual

Mine does the same thing. I remember reading somewhere about it. If I recall I think it is programed to turn off after a certain amount of time to what they say is to get "fresh air again".

Re: HVAC recirculate air will not stay ON!

the solution seems to be turn everything to manual controls, and for dash vents ONLY. recirculate will turn off if it is not dash vents ONLY

My AC/Heat has a mind of it's own! Set at 73, turn down a degree or two, blows hotter air. Crank it down to 65 just to get it to not blow hot air.
This is just a small example of all the crazy stuff the system does.

Gotta make time to get it into the service department!
