Re: Installed HIDs in fog lights

Thanks for the feedback!

Have you noticed a change in colour? Philips bulbs do color shift within approximately 100 hours, and will reach colour temps of 4700k - they will get slightly "crisper"

No change in color but I don't do much night driving.

Thanks for the response. It's not a huge difference - but noticeable if you're looking for it.

Hi Steve - I'm looking at your extreme kit on your website.
H11 Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits
Can you explain the difference between the standard 4300 bulbs and the phillips for $45 more?

The write up seems to say that all the bulbs "feature Philips UV quartz glass" and that the H11's (off the top of my head the 2014 Durango uses) are "rebased" H1 bulbs? Sorry for my ignorance but what's all that mean in the real world?

And I'd like to match the headlights so sounds like i'd be better off with the cheaper version that will stay at 4300 and not drift up to 4700 over time?

I'm not at all adverse to paying to get the best choice so basically just trying to understand- not cheap out.

Re: Installed HIDs in fog lights

@michaelk,

(1) The $45 upgrade gets you actual Philips bulbs that are made in Germany. The standard bulbs use Philips quartz glass but are not "Philips" HID bulbs. The $45 upgrade gets you genuine German made Philips 85122 bulbs (same ones used in OEM HID applications).

(2) What year is your Durango? The 2014 Dodge Durango uses an H11 bulb for the fog lights - Take a look at this 2014 Dodge Durango Light bulb guide. It itemizes what bulbs the vehicle uses for forward lighting, interior/courtesy lighting, and rear vehicle lighting.

(3) You're not going to go wrong whether you go with the XenonDepot 4300k bulbs or Philips 4300k bulbs in terms of colour matching your OE HID headlights.
