Kumho tires???

Lurking for awhile... getting ready to order a Limited soon. Lots of great advice here! Thanks. Did anyone else notice that the newest LTD VINs are shipping with Kumho tires? This is from a recent window sticker @Dodge.com:

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
Customer Preferred Package 23E
265/60R18 BSW All Terrain Tires
Kumho Brand Tires
Flex Fuel Vehicle
DESTINATION CHARGE $ 995

Do you think they are talking spare tire here or are they getting rid of the Michelins? Is so, are Kumhos any good?

Re: Kumho tires???

i've had kumho tires before on my bmw, no complaints, they cost less then domestic brands usually, and work just as well most of the time.

I blew out a kumho roadventure apt on my laredo. Blew the right rear on the highway coming back to campbell. Wet weather grip sucks.

Re: Kumho tires???

Upon further review at tirerack.com, it looks like the Kumho's are about $60 cheaper per tire than the Michelins. The reviews are not all that encouraging either. Apparently poor in snow... I sure hope I can still specify Michelins when an order is placed. Does anyone know if that is possible, or does the dealer have to swap them out?

dont think you can specify, dodge buys from the cheapest bidder.
