New Stiched Dash for Durango

I have a question. The following quote is from the FCA Media fact sheet on the 2017 Durango.
"Available new options on Durango R/T for 2017 include a new hand-wrapped soft-touch instrument panel with red accent stitching for an upgraded look." It was supposed to be a "late release"

Does anyone know if it has gone into production? I'm ready to order my new R/T but I'd love to have this dash if it's available, or about to be. My understanding is that it will be like the leather stitched dash in the GC Overland.

Re: New Stiched Dash for Durango

Looks like early March production launch, so ordering would open on February 9th.

For real. That interior is why we never considered one.

Re: New Stiched Dash for Durango

Thanks very much. I haven't been able to get an answer to this question from my dealer. He said that his manager was on a conference call with Chrysler last Monday and he asked the question. The answer was, "Yeah I think they're in production now, tell your customer to go ahead and order it." That sounded too vague for me. I've been trying to get the VIN of one that was built after the Christmas break and I'm not even sure if they are building them yet. I thought I'd be able to get the dealer to print the build sheet to see if it showed up. Anyway it looks like I have my answer now. I'll wait till Feb. 9 and place the order. Thanks again.

The leather ones look nice until this happens, that may of us on the GC are experiencing. Check with them that they are investing in better glue before you order it. a $2400 fix after your 3/36 expires

Re: New Stiched Dash for Durango

Use a sun shade and you won't have that problem.

Re: New Stiched Dash for Durango

Yes, I know about the problems. My brother-in-law had the dash in his GC replaced twice under warranty. My vehicle rarely stays out in the sun for long periods and I always lease for 24 or 36 months so if I do have an issue I'll be in warranty. But, having said all that I would hope that by now they've addressed the problem. Thanks for the heads up though.

FCA just released the video linked below which showcases the 2017 Durango Citadel Anodized Platinum. The video shows the new stitched leather dash and a new leather interior.

The Citadel Anodized Platinum model is also now up on the Build & Price section of Dodge's website.

Wow! Just watched the video. Definitely not my taste. I can't help but think too much lipstick on a pig... And why in tf did it take dodge so long to put any of this stuff in the Durango?..
