I wonder what vehicle coming off the line would require those in the first place for them to have them on hand.

WK2 SRT maybe???

Still doesn't explain how they wound up on a WD....

Re: Things to check on delivery

Can anyone offer some details on the software update for the 8.4AN? I picked up my Durango on 11/12 (built 10/29) and all is working well, but I do have the previous version installed. In reading the RRT bulletin, it looks like the dealer would have to look up the VIN to see if the update is applicable (absent any issues). Is that to verify the version or is there a subset of VIN's that have been identified as needing the update? Will dealers typically do this if asked?

As new updates come out are dealers obligated to perform the updates if requested? This is the first car I've owned with Navi etc... Thanks.

You don't need to certify the VIN. If you're not on 13.38.52 you can upgrade without any issues. Its like upgrading any other software, iOS app, etc.

If you want a double check plug the last 8 of your VIN in here and it will tell you if there is an update available

https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do

The update files and installation instructions are all in the UConnect forum for VIPs (forum supporters). I grabbed the files and instructions from there; the update took about 10-15 minutes.

I don't think dealers are obligated. More importantly, there have been instances of dealers installing an older version on some forum member's vehicles.

The beauty of UConnect is that its end user updatable, and as VIP members/site supporters we generally hear about updates (and have the software available) before the dealers.

Check carpet battery cover under seat closes flush with carpet.
Check even spacing of liftgate to body.

I picked up my Citadel yesterday. Ordered it about six weeks prior. Weather and conditions were poor for a detailed inspection, but one major issue I found was that my taillight actually has a big crack in it.

Yikes! Jump on the phone now and document via photos. I had a few issues with my D after delivery. Dealer was reasonable in the end and addressed most of the issues.

Wow. It appears alignment is a common issue! I had the same. Dealer addressed. Steering wheel vibrated badly at 64MPH. Also pulled slightly to the right!

All good now.

Good stuff. I plugged my VIN in and it is eligible for the update. What will this update give me? And is there any risk of screwing up my UConnect?

There's no risk, but sometimes the update can take 24 hours to really settle in, so don't be concerned if there appear to be some quirks.

The update corrected some bugs in earlier versions (particularly from 13.19 which predates all of the 2014 Durangos).

Premium members have access to the VIP section of the forum where additional information/discussion is available on the updates.
