Thought on tan interior?

Can anyone who has a '14 Durango with a black/tan interior share their thoughts on the color? Do you like it, does it appear orangey in person? I have a billet silver citadel on order with tan, but I am still considering black.

I don't have a '14 Durango (yet), but my wife and I saw this color combination on a '13 Citadel and her first reaction was, boy that looks orange...

Try doing a search on cars.com - I'm sure you can find some representative photos.

Please.........go with the black. Silver and tan are just not meant to be together. As a matter of fact, I think there's a law against it.

My wife says the same thing - can't mix tan with shades of grey. Since we did not want a black interior that ruled out the following colors for us:
- Billet Silver
- Granite Crystal
- Maximum Steel
- Sandstone (we couldn't do tan/tan either)

Since we didn't want white or black that left us with
True Blue
Deep Red Crystal

My last few cars had black interiors so I don't mind a change and ordered the Tan with True Blue. The Tan color picture reproductions on the internet seem to be off. I've seen two (not 2014) tan interiors on the road and the colors seemed inconsistent too oddly; one was more orange and the other lighter tan. Black exterior goes really nicely with all that Citadel chrome but I think Blue will look good with it too. There is a video on YouTube somewhere when the Durango was originally launched with the Black-Tan interior. Too bad panoramic roof is not available to break up the Black Headliner cave feeling some get.

Re: Thought on tan interior?

So they only offer black or tan interior colors? They really should have a charcoal grey color.

Tan or Black on the Citadel
Frost Beige or Black on Limited

Charcoal or light grey could have been a nice middle ground, but not offered for 2014.

Old video of Back/Tan launch:

They offer frost beige/stone for the Citadel too; it looks great but probably too light for kids (I am worried Tan might be too light for my kids).

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has some great interior colors like Jeep Brown, Indigo and a darker Tan in the SRT. I believe Milous had initially indicated a year ago that the Durango might get Laguna leather, from the Viper, which would have been sweet.

Re: Thought on tan interior?

A guy that parks in my work parking lot has a blackish/brown metallic colored Citadel (2014) with the tan seats. It looks really good.

I think a dark silver/gray would work with the tan seats but not a billet silver. I'd go with black in that case but if were up to me I wouldn't go with the billet silver at all.

Re: Thought on tan interior?

I just changed my order to black leather, the citadel in silver is very light with the chrome accents, and the black would provide more contrast, and would tie in with the black side steps I ordered... I don't want to run the risk of having an interior that looks like a Butterfinger bar

Headliner is gray with black interior and will certainly look good with your silver choice.
