Tow package "engine oil cooler" misnomer?

The tow package specs says it includes a "heavy-duty engine
oil cooler". Best I can tell it's a tranny cooler, much better and makes more sense. I see 3 separate radiators, one for the coolant, one for power steering and one that seems to be shared somehow by the tranny and A/C. The tranny exchange lines are long ones. They run all the way to the very back of the tranny. While I was under there following the lines I noticed the rear differential is a ZF unit. Love me some ZF. At my first oil change I plan on replacing the front/rear differentials and transfer case fluid with Redline oil. The transfer case for V6 (MP3010) takes Redline ATF D4 if anyone is interested.

It use's the cooling system as a oil cooler.

If you look under it near the oil filter should see a block with 2 hoses attached to it.

Ahhh, I get it. Thought that was pretty standard, maybe they just have larger passages or something for the heavy duty part.

The trailer tow group IV (AHX) includes. 220 amp alternator (BAJ), heavy duty cooling (NMC) I think it's just a larger radiator but not 100% sure, 7 and 4 pin wiring harness (XF2), class IV receiver hitch (XFH), Rear load leveling suspension (SES), full size spare tire (TBB), steel spare wheel (WLB). I did not see anything related to oil cooling.

Indeed their current site just says "Heavy Duty Engine Cooling" in the feature section for the tow package. I've read else where seeing it called heavy duty engine oil cooling, probably just marketing semantics. I'm not really worried about it, just curious making an observation. FYI my build sheet lists both for mine:

NHAP Engine Oil Cooler
NMCP Heavy Duty Engine Cooling

Re: Tow package "engine oil cooler" misnomer?

My build sheet did not mention anything about oil cooling, just what I posted above. I will certainly find out once it comes in and put it up on a lift to look for myself, since now you have me curious as well. I went with the Hemi after much back and forth. I must say I am impressed with the V6 having 6 quarts of oil and the V8 having 7. I always was a believer in larger oil capacities. (Still less oil then my 2002 powerstroke diesel at 15 quarts)
