Updated Durango Blacktop Pacakge

Looks like Dodge is now offering the Blacktop Package for the "new" Durango. (Curious as to why they are saying it's on the 2014 Durango, when it'll be out in October. Won't it be 2015 MY by then?)

In any case, looks great IMO...interesting that it looks like they went with the Citadel wheel design (15 spoke) in gloss black, rather than the SXT / R/T wheels.

Nice, but could use some wider wheels/tires.

scratching my head too about calling it a 2014 in all the press.

this link:

(from another thread in these forums)

says 2015 Durango's start getting built 10/27- why give dealers a 2014 Blacktop in October when new 2015's would show up in showrooms the next month?

Maybe by "on sale" in october do they mean you can pay the dealer for it in october and get a 2015? Or could the arifleet site be off a little?

It is not offered on Citadel that needs it, so you are basically getting to the R/T styling almost.
Further more on a black R/T there is not really much that changes.

I agree.

Personally, my ideal vehicle would have the technology option package (only offered on R/T and Citadel), but with the Pentastar V-6.

You can only get the tech package on the R/T and Citadel, but the V-6 is only available on the Citadel. So if (like me) you want a vehicle that is "loaded" with all basically all options...but with a V-6, you still have no other option than Citadel trim.

I love my Citadel, but if the blacktop package were available (or if the tech package was available on the Limited), I would have given serious consideration to that.
