so im ordering some new 22" rims (since my old set got burned up in a shop fire at work) my old tires were 265/35/22 and i want more sidewall so i want to go with 265/40/22's this time around.... will i have any rubbing issues, my suspension setup is wk bilsteins and wk eibachs. Any info will be greatly appreciated thanks
265/40/22 is a 30.7 inch dia. tire.
265/35/22 ia a 29.4 inch dia. tire.
I have used my winter tires BFG TA KO's 265/65/17 on the stock rims which are the same overall dia (30.7) as the ones your thinking about. I am lowered with RoadMagnets ver. 2 and Bilsteins. They do rub at full lock and also a tiny bit at full compression in the rear.
They still work though, just be careful.
How close were your old tires to rubbing?
Your new ones will have around 5/8 of an inch more sidewall. They may rub at full lock depending on the offset of your rims. They may also rub at full compression in the rear.
