280/50/20 Hankook - Kumho Tire thoughts

Has anyone used either of these tires?

HANKOOK VENTUS ST RH06 50R R20 TIRES

KUMHO ECSTA STX 50R R20 TIRES

Discount Tire Direct has these for $630 with $100 rebate on ebay through Nov 2 for all 4 tires.

Thought it was a pretty good deal. I had These Kumho Ecsta tires on my BMW and liked them.

Was thinking 280/50/20 or 285/50/20 on 20x8 wheels for my WK2.

Re: 280/50/20 Hankook - Kumho Tire thoughts

Is that including shipping? Tirerack.com has both tires for about $540 for 4 not including shipping. I've gone on Tirerack.com to pick tires, print out the price quote, then have the local Town Fair Tire beat that price. And they include free tire repair, rotation, winter tire swap, balancing, alignment and get them next day of ordering. I just bought Yokohama Parada Spec X in 275/45/r20 and so far I love them. I have Kumho Ecstasy tires on my stock 17" rims and they are almost bald after 20k miles, but they aren't the STX.

Yes free shipping. Good idea about local price match.

Did you have to have Speedo adjusted with size tire?

No I didn't adjust it. I don't think the larger size makes that much of a difference unless I'm completely wrong. If the speed limit says 40, my speedometer will be around 40 and all the cars around me are going the same speed so I'm sure its not that much off. I drive normal and haven't had a ticket yet since I have had them on.

You can't run a 285 on an 8in rim. The widest would be a 275. I got 20 X 10s all around with 295/45/20 Ventus ST. Most amazing quiet, best grip smooth ride tire I ever purchased (about 5k on them by now)
