Re: Are these good

Those rims. How much r they gonna weigh, not to mention those tires. Must be like 50-60lb a pop. That's gonna destroy mpg.

Re: Are these good

My guess is those tires will also be a lil noisy. Did u prep the wheel wells. I assume ur using offset to negate the use of spacers?

Re: Are these good

Rims weigh 46lbs ea...not sure about the tires. I'm counting on the noise, won't bother me a bit. I absolutely got the wheels so I didn't have to run spacers. I don't want the headaches associated with them. As far as the will work for beer aspect goes I like your style. However it might be cheaper to fly you here and buy beer versus how much in fuel and travel expenses would be.

Re: Are these good

As far as the wheel wells go, a couple weekends ago I took my wheels off to paint my calipers blue so while they were off I just pulled the whole fender liner out of each well.

Re: Are these good

I don't go off pavement. But like many, I like the deep, thick, aggressive tread patterns because they look so bad ass on a vehicle. The downside is of course the noise. I never see "noise ratings" on tires. I don't know if there even is such a thing.

Is there any way to ascertain the noise level these aggressive tread patterns generate, without rolling the dice and buying them, then having to live with it regardless of how loud they are? I know from various brands and tread patterns I've had on my truck over the years, they can differ greatly. Many times tread patterns you would think would be extremely noisy, are not. There is just no way to tell unless they're on your vehicle going 65 MPH.

Re: Are these good

After the COUNTLESS hours spent doing research and asking enough questions to aggravate even the nicest tire store employee, I've noticed if you go to pretty much any manufacturers web page you will see a scale in terms of noise, wet traction, dry traction, snow traction, mud traction, wear etc.
Of course nothing beats personal experience. If you're on the fence about a particular set ask whomever you buy them from if you drive on them for a day or two and find the road noise unbearable if you can return them.

Re: Are these good

Nope, no heat was needed. In fact a heat gun will only make things more gooey and more difficult to clean off the door once trim is removed. I used my big fat thumb to remove what was left behind. If you don't have a big fat thumb you can go to any auto parts store and get a wheel made by 3m that's used to remove pinstripes and decals. You use it in any drill and it's safe for all paints.

Any mfgr data is a guess as it is highly dependent on the highway surface.
Rippled [with those fancy swirly patterns] concrete can be incredibly noisy for one tire but not for another--where a more aggressive looking tread can be quieter than a non-aggressive tread.
