dest a/t or General grabber at2

Has anybody ran both of these tires? I have 09 laredo 4.7 w/QD2 and when I replace th GY fortera's I have narrowed my choice to these two. I had Dest a/t's on my 99 laredo 4.7 and it was a awesome tire all around. It's just the more I look and read about the general's the more I like them. Very little off roading just for the N.E. Ohio snow. How does the tread wear compare to the Dest a/t's. Probably go with 255/65/17 over the 245/70/17's since both of these tires dont come in the stock 245/65/17 as per tirerack. Although i did on hear that someone on here had dest at's in 245/65/17 not sure though. Thanks for any opinions.

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

Been running the General Grabbers AT2 for 5 years and very happy with them. Can only compare them to BFG AT and prefer the GG AT2 both on and off road.

General Grabber AT2's FTW!
I had these for a year on my WJ, probably about 20K and they still looked brand new, gear traction in all weather.

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

I'm running 32" Grabber AT2's and have had zero problems. Here is a short video of them in action at Twisted Trails last February. I had 4 people in my jeep the whole weekend and I only got stuck once and that was because i bottomed out on the transfer case crossmember.......and yes we were going through some deep snow I only a 2" lift at the time. They have excellent deep snow traction.

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

Thanks nwb300 i do like the look of those general's on your jeep. It's going to be a tough choice. I want to say I only got 30-35k out of the Dest a/t's before I sold it to my brother. He put another set of dest on.

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

I have the Grabber AT2s on mine and they are immense. Insane grip wet or dry and work stupidly good in the snow - never been wheeling with them though so can't omment there.

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

see comparison results on tirerack http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey....jsp?type=ORAT

the Dest AT is ranked #1, far superior to the General in terms or handling, steering, cornering, ride comfort, noise, etc...

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

Ummmmm I wouldn't say FAR superior to the grabbers. I would put a paycheck on them not out performing the AT2's in the snow. All those rating are based on personal reviews. Like people are really going to buy Kumho's for winter tires. LOL

Re: dest a/t or General grabber at2

Overall the Dest a/t is rated better but the grabbers have a slight edge in light snow, deep snow, and ice. On my 99 the dest were flawless in the snow. I guess it will come down to price and which one looks better on my 09. I dont think you can go wrong with either one.
