Help with what size rims and tires?

Just picked up a 2012 grand Cherokee Laredo. It currently has 17's on it. My question is how big of rims and tires can I put on without a lift, rubbing or major loss of ride quality? I would love to put some 20 SRT8 reps.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Help with what size rims and tires?

This is what I'm playing with - I need to find the rims with the right offset and order them.

I think that 285/60 were fitted by many without problems.

Help with what size rims and tires?

Works when I click it, maybe copy paste to your browser.
The 285/60 is for 18"
The real issue will be the offset, you want the new ones to go a little more out then the stock so you don't rub on suspension bolt on front wheels.

Re: Help with what size rims and tires?

I am really confused. I went to all the tire places and some said that 20's wouldn't work and most said yes put 20's on. Should I go 18's or 20's? Anyone have experience with either?

Re: Help with what size rims and tires?

It's not just the diameter. The jeep comes stock with both 18 or 20. You also need the right width and offset.

What you are looking for is 20x9 or 20x10 with 5x127 (5x5) lug pattern and 35 offset if you go with wider then stock (265) wheels.
For stock width wheel you are looking for 8 to 8.5 rim width and your offset will be 45 to 50.

Hope this helps you.

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I am thinking 18's with some meaty tires. Have u seen any with the XD heist, misfit or monster black rims on it! I have only seen the monster and they look good IMO LOL

It's comments like these from two separate people that have me confused,

2string1 ...it's a fairly easy concept.
If you want to run a 20x9 wheel ET35 is the offset for you.
If you want to run a 20x10 wheel ET50.
