So have been reading posts and trying to find anything possible on up-sizing to 275/55-20. Wanted either the new Defender LTX. Or the Premier LTX.
Just got them (premier) put on today at NBTY. Damn are they a hell of a lot bigger than the stock Forteras that were on there. I was really surprised how much more meat!
No rubbing in any position but then again I don't drive around in the lowest "park" setting.
Immediately nicer ride with these and I could tell on off ramps they are tighter and handle better.
Will review more as I actually get miles on them! Very nice tire and they don't look like a wimpy tire on there either. (I was afraid that would be the case)
I was wondering how you like the tires now that you have had them on for 2 months. I have a 2014 JGC Limited with the stock Goodyear Fortera HL 265/50R20 and it is getting time to replace them. I have close to 40K miles on them and I have noticed the tires are starting to loose grip in the rain. I have been searching the forums and a lot of people like the Michelin tires. Now that you have had them for a little while how do they preform. I do mostly road driving in the Northeast but I have a cabin in the Poconos and the road the cabin is on is a gravel road and when I am on the gravel road I tow a ATV trailer. I am curious to how you like the new tires.
They are really great tires... Amazing on dry, heavy rain and snow(just got 6" here the other day).
I drive also on dirt/rock gravel roads up in nh and Maine. They have performed better than expected honestly.
They don't look wimpy either on the jeep!
100% satisfied.
You know I have also been looking at the premier LTX a little closer as possibly my next tire. I had thought I was going to get the Defender LTX but the ratings everywhere I look are excellent on the Premier. Defenders are good also but premier snow ratings are looking a lot better than I expected. its a new tire so not a whole lot of ratings but so far they are great.
So I just put on the Michelin Premier LTX on my 2014 Jeep Grand Overland 5.7... 265/50R/20... and I am impressed! I wouldn't bother trying to put on the 275's, these were made to fit and the difference in height is minimal. The footprint on the road feels great and the freeway exits feel so much better than the stock Goodyear's. Not a super beefy tread design, they do perform well, and I do like the wide appearance. I also unlocked the Hemi with a K&N 77 Metal Intake Kit system and new Corsa Exhaust (part #14991)... sounds Bad ass and now has performance tires to go with it.
