Powder Coating Question

So I have been looking to get my stock 17s on my 11 JGC powder coated but I can't seem to find a place that will actually take the car in to do the work. All places are telling me that I need to drop off just the rims, or the rims and tires.
The 2 places I have contacted all claim it is an insurance issue.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and what they did? I do not have the tools, space, or know how to remove the wheels myself so what did you guys do in this case. Did you keep searching for a one stop shop? Did you get the wheels taken off at one place and then brought to another? Where did you put your truck when the wheels were off? Any suggestions would help. Thanks

Once the powder is applied to the metal, the metal is essentially baked under high heat. for obvious reasons anything that can't handle the heat would be ruined. The place that does all my powder coating isn't a tire and wheel shop, so they don't have equipment to mount, balance, unmount tires/wheels. perhaps that's the problem you're running in to.

Most place that do powder coating do just that, powder coating. They aren't specialized in wheels. So you need to bring them a part to be powder coated.

If you dont have a set already, take this as an opportunity to get 4 jackstands. Remove the wheels and have the tires dismounted then deliver the wheels to who ever is doing the coating.

On a side note, in the racing world improperly powder coated wheels have a have a higher rate of failure. Wheels "should" be done with a lower temp powder.
