Tire sizes

I have just purchased a '99 Grand Cherokee and need to replace the front two tires, I bought some online and swore I looked and double and triple checked, but I bought two different sizes. I bought 245 70r16 (10/32) and 245 75r16(9/32), will this cause major issues?

Re: Tire sizes

Two different diameters on an AWD vehicle will tear up your drivetrain. Don't do it.

I should add it is the aspect ratio that is off (70 & 75.) It is a 2wd rear wheel and the tires would be going on the front.

Re: Tire sizes

The front number is width in mm. The aspect ratio is the percentage of the tire width times two plus wheel diameter to give you the overall diameter of the tire. 245mm width X 70% or 245mm X 75% gives you the sidewall distance so it will be two different diameters. Being two different diameters on your 2wd it will not hurt your car but two of your tires will be taller than the other two. You can put the taller tires on the rear and give it that hot rod rake but you wont be able to rotate your tires without them looking goofy with the taller tires on the front.
