Tires Supplied with ORA II Package

I just purchased a 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland with the Off Road Adventure II Package. The window sticker clearly states that P265/60R18 BSW AS on/off-Road Tires should be on the vehicle. The tires that are on the vehicle are P265/60R Michelin Latitude Tour tires. The dealer said they would contact Jeep to see what can be done to resolve the issue.

Has anyone been successful in getting Jeep to replace the Michelin Latitude Tour tires with REAL on/Off tires as is shown on the Window Sticker?

I didn't think about having Jeep replace them, but did find it rather funny that the "Off Road Adventure" tires are all-season highway tires. I think "off road" is not really defined... Does it mean it will handle the Rubicon Trail, or take you on dirt roads? My guess is the latter. When ours wear out we will get something more appropriate.

The tires Jeep puts on these is likely more influenced by rolling resistance and fuel mileage than performance. Jeep can be fined by the Feds if their fuel economy isn't as advertised, but if the vehicles aren't great off road with the supplied tire, just a few customers will complain. That is an easy decision for them to make...

Re: Tires Supplied with ORA II Package

The "trail rated tough" video on the Grand Cherokee website has a GC with street oriented Michelin tires. The video doesn't show it doing anything too exceptional, but my guess is that Jeep believes the tires on yours are adequate.

Our '13 TrailHawk came with Goodyear Kevlar tires and they have been very good for us.

Those are the correct tires. That's what my '14 ORA2 came with.

They are pretty lousy in the snow, BTW. Just swapped mine off for LTX MS2s at 33K miles.

Jeep changed their mind for MY 2016 and they are putting a more off road tire on the ORAII package. They finally also dumped the fortera from the 20s for 2016 thank god.

Re: Tires Supplied with ORA II Package

I got the Lats too. I asked the dealer about swapping them out, but I was denied. Good highway tire, but I hear they suck in snow. I am thinking about those Nokian tires from Finland.

The best Nokians are made in Russia. Nothing beats them for fugly weather, but they are easily the noisiest studdeds I've ever driven. It is nice to cruise solid ice at highway speeds if that's what you need to do in your neck of the woods, or slog thru snow that drags your vehicle enough you have to raise it to off-road 1 setting.

It is hard to believe the latitudes come from the same company that makes MS/2 but I guess every family has at least one member it wished it didn't.
