Which tire nitto or wrangler

I have decided to get 18's XD monster or misfit rims. Cannot decide between the Nitto Terra Grapplers or the Wrangler Duratrac tires. I will be driving mostly on road with Very little off road use. I am mostly worried about the noise and ride of each. Thanks for your input and knowledge.

They'll both be louder than stock but you'll gain great traction in almost any condition. The responses you'll get will be from people who are bias from owning one or the other. There are a few members on here with those wheels so if you search around you'll find some pics. Good luck.

Re: Which tire nitto or wrangler

I know there are a lot of people who love their Duratracs, but if you're most concerned about noise and ride, I don't see how the Duratracs couldn't be louder and a little more uncomfortable on road than the Terra Grapplers would be just based on their tread design and depth. And if you don't go off road either, then that's another reason to go with the more mild tread design.

And fwiw, I don't own either. So I'm not biased either way. Just my opinion.

I just put bfg a/t ko2 on the girl's rig. I can't notice much additional noise, but they seem to ride very well and are responsive. We had Big O highway tires before. Sucked in snow. The ko2s you can't even tell there is snow.

Before and after pics attached.

Re: Which tire nitto or wrangler

I have owned both the tires you have mentioned and both are good . The Bfg's were on my wifes Tahoe and the did a good job (mainly on road and in the snow ) and the tire wear was prety good, I had the Nitto's on a 3/4 ton truck and they had some noise but the tire wore very well (over 50k miles ) and they went very well in the snow and avg mud conditions. Imho the Nittos are better bang for the buck. My .02.

Re: Which tire nitto or wrangler

I have just installed a set of Nitto Grappler G2 265 50R/20. They look great, are quiet, and offer amazing traction in snow. I love them so far!
