Simple question from a soon to be new Jeep owner: I have a 2016 JKU ordered and just went with the basic sport model, so it'll have the 16" steel wheels. I'd like to get something to last me until I lift it and found a set of Sahara wheels from a 2013, will these fit ok? I assume they didn't change lug pattern/size between the years, but since there aren't many '16s out there I figured its worth asking.
Also, is there any chance the TPMS would be recognized and if so, do I need a tool to trigger them or is it automatic?
I am not an expert. But the lug patterns should be the same from 2013 to the 2016 model. The bigger question and one I am also researching is ---- will the 18" wheels and tires from the Sahara fit without any mods. Are the springs, etc set up for the Sahara different from the Sport in a way that will not allow for the use of the larger wheels.
I am in a similar situation. I ordered the Sport S (17" wheels) but would like a more aggressive tread and larger wheel. I found a set from a Sahara that I like. But trying to find out if they will fit without rubbing.
Hopefully one of the experts will chime in and provide us some advice.
It was too good of a deal to pass up, so I ended up going with them and put them on last week when I brought my Jeep home. They fit perfectly. They will not rub with the stock tires, but I'm sure if you start going bigger you will have issues.
Also, the set I bought had the TPMS already in from a '13, and I can confirm that they relearned to my '16 in a matter of minutes while driving, no work on my part at all.
