Will WK2 tpms work on a WK

I just picked up a set of 18" rims from a 14 WK2. I want to install them on my 08 but will the sensors from the 14 work? Both run on the 433mhz frequency but not sure if they will be plug and play. Any body have experience with this?

Re: Will WK2 tpms work on a WK

I recently asked this question on a different forum. I've looked at aftermarket TPMS sensors and there are still 2 different part numbers between wk 433mhz and wkII sensors in the aftermarket world, which leads me to believe that they will not work. You should try it though, I am very curious about this. The wkII sensors are almost $50 less than the wkI sensors on ebay.

I'll say yes. Most times the different part numbers are from revisions at the end of the part number.

That makes sense, but don't you think aftermarket TPMS companies would be smart enough to discontinue the old sensors if the newly revised ones worked as well? Maybe I'm just giving these companies too much credit
