05 grand Cherokee 5.7l 4x4 starting problem

Hello I have almost give up on this suv I have a starting problem. I turn the key and it clicks, turn it again and it clicks. Now I looked up a little information and read about possible battery and starter relay issue. I metered the battery 12.7 volts and I replaced the starter relay. Still does it sometimes. Would this lead me to the starter at 110,000 miles ?

Yes, most probably the starter solenoid is getting bad. (part of the starter motor, but can be changed separately if you prefer). The faint click you hear should be from the starter relay. Just to be sure, have a look at the small wire which goes to the starter solenoid. Sometimes its loose or making bad contact at the solenoid.
