05 Limited fog lights HELP

I'm about to loose my mind over this.....My fog lights won't come on. I found the thread about jumping pin #82(i think that was the #)-nogo. I found my multifunction switch had a couple broken wires in it. I ordered and installed the new switch. everything else works just fine(i.e. blinkers, hi/lo, parking, dimmer....). at least now i get the green fog indicator on my dash panel. I have swapped relays and checked fuses, all goodtohook. I'm not getting any juice through either outlet(tested by volt meter). I thought I read somewhere that the fog light plugs on the early WK's had some problems melting or failing in some way. Anybody have any ideas? I've tried tracing the wires in the harness, (this is where I start going a little more cooky than normal). Am I SOL or .....?

Re: 05 Limited fog lights HELP

Did the fog lights used to come on?

I know that they have to be "activated" as a feature via starscan if being added to a rig that did not have them before...if the hardware side of things check out, it's possible it is software related.

Re: 05 Limited fog lights HELP

So i bought this car used. The previous owner said they had been working the last time he had tried them. I'm not sure if this is true or not, since as I stated there were broken wires in the multifunction switch. Before i replaced the multifunction switch I wouldn't get any indicator light on the dash. Now I get the green indicator light (similar to the blue hi-beam indicator). Would I see the indicator light if the software needed the be re-flashed for the new multifunction switch?
