05 wk coolant leak after replace heater core.

I had the heater core replaced after there was no heat what so ever, so i put a new heater core in and now i get some heat as im driving and it gets worse when i stop. My floors continue to get soaked but at times its more like water and spots of coolant.

Maybe coolant from heater core before bad still there?

Water?

By the firewall under the passenger the foam that surrounds the heater core lines going out are soaked in coolant. I turn the air on an monitor the hoses but i dont see a mass leak like what is on my carpets.

Im going nuts to figure out?

Clogged heatcore line?

I see you have an "05" WK but what kind of motor? Do you trust the Mech who did the fix? Could it have been there before or caused by a sloppy fix? Make sure you don't have the HVAC "air blend door" problem that seemed to be the culprit for these years.

Did they replace the heatercore and aluminum lines that come out of the core? sometimes those aluminum lines are known for having pin holes you cant see . I would take it back and have your mechanic look at it , if you trust him . When i did my heatercore i replaced the Core, aluminum lines that go into the heatercore , and o rings . From what you discribe Im guessing its either a faulty core or o-rings are shot.

Did you ever find the culprit? I'm having the same issue. My heater core was replaced by the dealer and my carpet is still getting soaked and the coolant tank is definitely low just days after topping it off. It's now like over an inch below the 'ADD' line? Heat works FYI.

Re: 05 wk coolant leak after replace heater core.

Check the heater hoses going into the aluminum lines from the other side of the firewall. They may be attached incorrectly and or not clamped tight enough causing coolant to seep by and drip down the lines into your interior.
