Re: 05 WK Lost FOB Key Program Again

I asked one of my buddies and he told me that I would have to get it reprogrammed at the Jeep Dealership since they have the "Special Computer" to do it. This can't happen to me. This means that I have to keep a tool box handy with me....It been working fine, but I know it's going to do it to me again sometime soon. I did Cycle the key and it still didn't shut off the alarm.

What should I do from here? ALL key FOB batteries have been replaced.

Re: 05 WK Lost FOB Key Program Again

Yes the WCM must have information transfered from the pcm with the witech scantool. This is a dealer repair.

Re: 05 WK Lost FOB Key Program Again

there is that other option if you want to shell out the cash, purchase the Witech Scan tool. hell i would and then anyone in my area that needed "dealer only programming done charge them half what the dealer would charge and you would be golden.

That would be a great idea. But as you are saying the dealer will do a programming only. But whatever we can't do a programing as well. This is really a golden chance dude.

Not so simple... You would also need to pay chrysler for access to dealer connect to flash modules and I could not even guess what that costs but the fact that there are very few shops with this access its likely first born child expensive.

Re: 05 WK Lost FOB Key Program Again

hmmm. i didnt know that, that sucks, i would have figured if you could buy the tool just like any scan tool and program once you buy it your set even though this tool is uber expensive in comparison to consumer level tools.

You can use the scantool as a scantool and nothing further, you cannot flash the modules as it pulls that information off the interwebz, its like 900 dollars to be able to pull codes, actuate things and reset modules.

Anyway, sorry to pull your thread off topic... No one can die in a flaming ball of jeep when it wont even start so the importance Chrysler of paying for this repair is through the floor I imagine. (at least from their perspective).
