'06 4.7L PCV and EGR Locations?

Going to be taking my '06 4.7L in for 60k service at a local shop, not the dealer. I don't want to sound like a total idiot/cheap a** when I give him a new PCV and EGR to replace. I took a few pictures of my engine, knowing they both reside somewhere in the drivers side rear area.

I already found out that the PCV for my '06 is different than what's given at O'Reilly auto parts online. I ended up ordering it from Rock Auto once I realized I had the wrong part. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it should be on the drivers side back near the rear cylinder, right? It also has a blue ring around it.

Anyway, here's a few pictures I took with the areas I'm pretty sure they're in. Can somebody confirm these for me? Thanks.

I know I'm a tiny bit early on the EGR but I might as well get it done if it's in. The parts were cheap to get outside of the dealer. Neither are throwing codes at the moment, but 60k miles and 5 1/2 years of use I figured I might as well get it out of the way.

You are correct about the area of the PCV. You should be able to see the blue portion of the one on there now at the end of the connecting hose.

It's in a tight spot but you can save a few bucks by doing it yourself. You'll need a 34mm socket and a u-joint. Took me about 5 minutes.

Can't help you with the EGR as I never changed mine. Good luck.

Re: '06 4.7L PCV and EGR Locations?

The little blue piece unscrews from the metal one. You dont have to take the giant metal piece out. The blue part is the valve, the metal is just a housing.

Wether you change the whole thing or not, they aren't very tight. Just grab some slip joint "channel locks" and spin it out.

The egr is behind the PVC valve bolted to a little pad that sticks out of the back of the head. Torx bolts hold it on. I don't remember what size. T40 or T45. The tube is held to the valve with 8mm head bolts. Make sure to get the paper gasket that goes there.

See the tube in the 1 st pic at about the 9 o'clock position in the big red circle? That's the egr tube where it goes into the intake. Follow it to find the valve.

Re: '06 4.7L PCV and EGR Locations?

For anyone stumbling on this thread, here's a guy changing his PCV value on a 4.7L engine.
