Re: 06 gc hemi transmission poroblem

Sorry, didnt understand the last part. You have to brake hard to keep the jeep standing still at a stop sign? Did Aamco replace the torque converter?

Re: 06 gc hemi transmission poroblem

This sounds odd. If its about to stall, the rpm is normally lower then the normal idle rpm, so it should have less torque to break free. Isnīt the rpm going up first, to then bog down due to the resistance its getting from the torque converter?
Still thinking about a problem with the torque converter clutch. How long ago did they do the rebuild? No warranty on it anymore?

Re: 06 gc hemi transmission poroblem

At least you can take it back to that tranny shop for them to look at it. It doesnīt move at all now? They must have done something wrong.

Re: 06 gc hemi transmission poroblem

Any particles in the fluid? I wonder what they will find, but it would not be a surprise to me when its the torque converter.

What happened the previous times that they had to do it so many times?
Maybe time for an other transmission shop?
I had my transmission rebuild and they had to remove it three times. The first time ofcourse for the problem it had (lost 3rd gear and up), then it had a leak and then a few weeks later the first problem returned again. The last time they kept it for 6 weeks before returning it to me. After that it was working well, but the fluid was changing its color to something greyish over the next months. Didnīt want to return to that shop again and continued driving until it started to slip in 2nd and 5th. Decided to tackle it myself this time, and during the teardown, i discovered that the 2C clutch was mounted wrongly (wrong stator disc inserted in the transmission casing, causing it to rotate inside the casing and to wear away the aluminum casing). Bought the complete master kit from MOPAR and did the rebuild myself. Now almost 3 years and 50K flawless Km further, i just bought fluid and filters for its preventive maintenance.
