Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

Looks like the problem is back, seemed to be good last night after I did the seafoam, but on my into work this morning, back to the same. Just not as frequently so I am thinkin a second dose. Amnesia, did you have a shop check it out, maybe a dealership? I took mine to the shop, they reproduced the problem but no fault codes. They suspected 1 or 2 coil packs were going bad, but I don't want to repolace all for nothing.

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

I bought a new coil pack because one looked really bad- boot swollen due to oil and heat?? Still did not solve the problem. I have switched out several of the original coil packs with the new pack in an attempted to see if I could identify a coil problem but to no avail. Dealership absolutely no help. I have given up on them due to other unresolved issues related to parking brake.

Do you think it could be a transmission issue ? I am just guessing out of frustration.

I also used Seafoam in the manifold and fuel tank. Helped to quite a tic in the valve train but no impact on the stutter issue.

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

Not sure about transmission, my mechanic, whom I trust, said probably not the tranny. Have you done anything with crankshaft position sensor, or camshaft position sensor?

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

Can you describe the stutter a little more, other than it just shakes a little at those speeds? I have a few questions, if you don't mind:
1. What gear(s) is it in when this occurs?
2. What happens if you slightly "goose" the throttle when this is happening?
3. Have you checked the transmission fluid level with hot?
4. How many miles on the vehicle?
5. When was the transmission last serviced?
6. Spark plugs are from the stealer, but are they platinum or iridium, or the Champion 570's? Did you check the gaps before installing?
7. When this occurs, does the engine appear to be lugging, like maybe it needs to downshift? Between ~35-41 mph you'll probably be in 4th (first overdrive) gear.

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

The stutter is very slight, feel it in whole vehicle, seat of pants. Its more of an irritant than anything, my concern is if I don't get this figured out its gonna become bigger.

1. top of 3 bottom of 4
2. Give it a little throttle and it goes back to normal
3. Trans fluid level good, serviced last September.
4. 89000k
5. Spark plugs, copper from dealership, gaps verified.
6. Doesn't seem to lack power at all.

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

That would be irritating. You're almost exactly where I am on mileage with my 06. Since you're at real light throttle, I guess it is possible that the converter clutch is on the edge of applying, or trying to apply. If you're not getting any shift in RPM though, that tells me it is not, at least not fully. Is MDS active at any time when this is going on? Have you tried running it with the shift lever in "4" position? This would eliminate the MDS from the equation. You may also want to try running in the "3" position (not allowing it to upshift to 4th) at light throttle to see if it does it at the speeds it normally happens at. I guess what I am after is to either eliminate the transmission and/or MDS or see if either, in any way, is contributing to the issue. This might be a fun one to try and figure out.

Have you done any mods yet? If so, which ones? Stock exhaust?

Re: 06 Hemi Stutter 30-40 MPH

Zero mods, bone stock, I have so many plans but until this is figured out, not a penny. I'll trade it before it gets expensive. I have been using it 4th, hard to tell, have to do a little more testing.

Have you checked the motor mounts and wheel bearings?

No, are you thinking vibration from those at a certain load?
