06 Nav will not play Mp3's only Wma's?

The manual specifically states that the radio can play Mp3 format, but when I load a cd with Mp3's it says "No Audio Files" it plays Wma's no problem. If there is a way to avoid converting everything to Wma's I would appreciate the info.

Make sure your audio files are no deeper embedded than 1 subdirectory (folder). If you have them embedded in more than 2 layers deep with folders, the REC for sure won't see it. I play mp3's all the time, but just burn them onto CD's separated by band name for ease. iTunes and the like usually does one level for band, then another level for album, and the REC just won't see anything in the 3rd layer.
