'06 Overland power folding mirror shaking

Both mirrors fold just fine, but the driver is loose and shakes as I go down the road. I read that if is forced open or closed it will be loose. I would think that it would not be permanent though....anyone.

Re: '06 Overland power folding mirror shaking

Don´t know if the power folding mirrors on my WJ are of the same type as on the WK, but on the WJ they can be force closed or open just as a protection that they won´t break of. I never opened it up, but there should be a spring inside, which keeps it in the center position and free of play. Maybe some lubrication with WD40 can do wonders.

Thanks. I think I need to get behind the mirror, but I had a lot of trouble with it and got scared of breaking the auto dim feature. I think you are on to something though. That spring must be loose or broken.
