Re: 06 wk overheating???

Just to be sure what is going on, where you driving and saw the temperature rising, or standing still and idling?
Which engine?

Re: 06 wk overheating???

Sounds like a stuck thermostat.

Re: 06 wk overheating???

Did you continue driving after that? If the temperature is fine while driving, but rises when standing still, the problem seems to be the cooling fan. If it rises also during driving, then the thermostat would be the first to change.

Re: 06 wk overheating???

That it takes longer for the heat to start working, points towards a not properly closing thermostat. Maybe it is stuck somewhere in between. So i would first change the thermostat.

Re: 06 wk overheating???

I just had the same thing happen to my 06 WK 3.7L. Sitting still it would start to overheat, but driving on the highway it would be fine as long as it was getting revs. Swapped out the thermostat and haven't had any issues since.
