Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

Have you pulled the plug to make sure the gap is correct?

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

I hate it when I hear ppl changing parts for no reason. Been there...done that myself. It can get expensive. Sounds to me like it should be a connection somehere...probably to the coil. Check all connections where you worked. And I would re-check the gap as BB said, cuz sometimes strange things happen.

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

yeah i really dont have the money to be just changing parts , do u think it could be the fuel injector ? when i hit the gas it it hesitates like its gonna stop

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

When I knocked an injector plug off it gave a different code. I would swap the coil pack to another cyl. just in case it's the coil pack even if unlikely but you might not be getting power to the coil pack. Check the coil electrical connection

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

Are you using OEM or OEM replacement plugs?

I know when I replaced mine I forgot to hook up one of the coil electrical connectors and it did the exact same thing. Double check all your connections, but im guessing you have done this already.

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

Dead miss I would be looking at something like coil, spark plug, injector or cylinder integrity. (duh kinda right? that should cover it all eh).

When did it start to misfire, just randomly one morning it was running like crap? did you do anything to it prior to the misfire? has it progressively got worse and worse? it is missing all the time right?

IF the answer to my last question is yes, DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE unless you want to pay for catalytic converters. Driving on a misfire will dump raw fuel into the hot catalyst and hello meltdown!

Re: 2005 3.7 misfire

i replaced the spark plugs , and thne coil on cylinder 3 since it started it been the same , i try not to drive it unless i really have to tho. and it just started one mornin out the blue . im about to go check my spark plug gap, and swap one of the coil to see if it changes . im thinkin that injector on 3 is the problem cause like i said when i hit the gas it it hesitates
