Just bought a 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 with 61000 from a dealer AS IS. By Connecticut state law it has to pass emissions before it can be sold. While going through emissions a check engine light came on, make a long story short. It took them 5 days and 400 miles of drive testing to come to the conclusion, to replace the cat and all the cat sensors. I received the jeep finally, and on the way home the check engine light came on a half hour after driving. I haven't given up yet that this can be fixed, but my faith is being tested. Dealer said to bring it back next week, the work is under warranty. In case your wondering, they installed a after market cat. Any one else lose an emission system after so short a mileage.
you have an 8yr 80k mile extended emissions warranty that should have got you a free OEM mopar Y pipe assembly. I dont know why they would have put aftermarket cats on there...
If you give me the last 9 of your vin, your approx milage, and the first 4 letters of your last name I can verify you have the federal extended emissions warranty. I really hope they didnt charge you for all those repairs!
