Unhappy 2005 Grand Cherokee Electrical Issues

Hello, I am new to your community (never posted on a forum before). My son is having a lot of electrical issues with his 2005 Grand Cherokee. The main issue right now is the battery going dead. New alternator, New Battery, new ignition switch, new radio and repaired the ground from body to frame. With IOD fuses in the draw is 1.5, with removed .5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start with the easy stuff. Test the battery. It could be the wrong battery or not enough cca for this cold weather depending on where you live

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee Electrical Issues

A normal IOD draw usually ranges between 5 and 35 milliamperes. What are the values that you are reporting?

This may help trouble shooting if you do have an IOD issue:

I will warn you, typically hunting these things down is a maddening experience!

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee Electrical Issues

Thank you for the info and the link. The Jeep is actually being driven by my son who lives in AZ, so we're doing some double long distance troubleshooting.

On his last check he was at 1.5A.

We have a slight delay in troubleshooting (his wife is possibly in labor and they are heading to the hospital). As soon as he gets back on it, I'll let you know.

Again, THANK YOU!
