Re: 2005 suspension clunk

Once the diff is removed.. fluids will probably leak and the front diff will probably need to be refilled.

Re: 2005 suspension clunk

I just had my front dif mount replaced too; the clunk is worn sway bar links. I replaced mine at 50k and the stock links were shot.

Re: 2005 suspension clunk

BTW - do these aftermarket endlinks hold up to offroad use? Seems ever since I've been doing more than streets, the (oem) links have been making more noise. Hate to spend all that money to have it happen again and disconnecting them for wheelin' is out of the question (90% of the time).

Re: 2005 suspension clunk

The sway bar links can be seen by crawling under the vehicle or removing a wheel.
They look like tie rods; The metal end wears out and causes the clunk. They are a wear item and with 60k miles, you almost certainly need to replace them. Mone were shot at 50k, with not much off road driving. If you just drive on the streeet, get Bwoody links, they do not wear out and really stifen the ride and handling up, but if you go offroad, they are not what as good as stock, since they do not have a balljoint on the rear ones and too harsh on bumpies.

Re: 2005 suspension clunk

so if i remove the 2 endlinks on both sides and check i shoud be able to tell if the clunk is gone?

what about not spending 215 bucks and maybe just a replacement for like 50 bucks?
