2005 WK AC Blend Doors failure/replacement

How can the blend doors on a 2005 WK be replaced/repaired? I have a dual system with cold air on the driver side and warm air on the pass side. AC charge is OK. The 2004 has a cheat by removing the glove box and cutting through the plastic heater box to access the blend doors. Is this (or another cheat) possible on the 2005 WK? Dealer wants $1500 to remove dash, etc to fix.
Is there a troubleshooting tip to confirm blend door issue vs other possible problem? Thanks for the help.

If you search the forum, you will find acouple of threads talking about this, including part numbers.

It's usually not the door but the motor that is the issue. You can get access through the glove box to at least check if the motor is working properly.

I had the same thing happen and it was the refrigerant charge. To test, run the vent in manual by turning the selector to top vents and turn both temps down without pushing the A/C button ( A/C light off). If both vents blow same temp air, it is the refrigerant system. My shop completely evacuated and leak checked the system and recharged and all has been well. You might luck out like I did.
