2005 WK Limited rear window

The rear window in my '05 WK will randomly pop open the rear window. It only does this when the doors are locked by the FOB. Manually locking the doors does not stop the rear window from popping open. Also, once it has popped open, the latch still clicks. It does not matter if the jeep is on or off, in park or driving down the road.

Any idea on where to start. I have searched a lot of this site and jeep forum and found nothing similar to this. I have owned this jeep for about 3 days now. It started doing this yesterday. It did not do it on the test drive or the first day or so that I had.

Is the switch in the rear lift gate stuck? I noticed mine recently has a tendency to stick a little in the up position.

I have to look. By switch do you mean the lever next to the latch? Because seems to be out. I can push it back in, but it does not stick. It pops right back out.

Ya, that's the one... Not sure what might cause that... sounds like an electrical short. Is it wet outside where you are when it happens?

Nope, no rain since I bought the jeep. It did it once today. I also noticed that the mirrors move when I unlock the doors with the FOB... I will check the switch tomorrow

Memory mirrors??? There's a few solutions for that issue. Unrelated to your issue of the rear window glass latch spontaneously releasing....

The mirrors are not a problem yet. I am gonna check out the latch. I have a buddy who has the same jeep with the baby v8. I will look at the location of his switch. Do a side by side comparison

Re: 2005 WK Limited rear window

Happened to me 3 days after getting mine. I was "pocket dialing" my fob and releasing the glass. I'm sure this is not whats going on, but it took me a minute to figure out what was happening -
