2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo issues

I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo limited edition 3.7. Been experiencing a few problems lately and hoping to get some good feedback from this site from knowledgeable fellow jeep owners and/or techs.
In the last month or so, my check engine light and traction light comes on periodically and my transmission downshifts or stays on one gear. Transmission overtemp light comes on occaisionally. I pull over, shut it off, restart and it runs fine for a few miles. There's times that I ride all day with no lights coming on and no problems. Runs good. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be??? Transmission fluid is full and looking good. Thanks

Re: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo issues

as far as the traction issue, I had the same problem when I had a tire of a different size on. check that all your tires are exactly the same, since the system fires on a rotational basis, and that all are inflated properly.

if they are different sizes, replace them, as this will cause future driveline issues. but the traction firing will also create shift problems, so that could all be lumped into one issue.

thats about all I got on that one. as far as the trans overtemp, I'm not sure whats going on if you have full fluid.
