2007 3.7l Revving problem

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is having a revving problem. When I rev the jeep up it takes a while for it to come back down to the normal RPM's. I recall seeing discussion on here before about this same problem but I cannot come across the same conversations. If anyone could help me with this problem that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: 2007 3.7l Revving problem

It's normal. It won't rev up and settle down quick like an older style car engine. IIRC it will only rev up to about 3500 rpms and it definitely takes a bit to settle down....
