Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

I keep getting a message that says it is incompatible. It looks like a pro-rated 5 year warranty on top of 3 year free replacement is being sacraficed here. I wonder why that is... Duralast has the same deal for a little less than that die hard. Same company so I gather it is the same battery.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

It isn't the battery designated for the WK I was assisted by the salesman picking the case size, terminal orientation, and cca so their won't be a warranty issue. It is probably the biggest I would recommend for that spot. If Duralast has something similar, or the specific model for it I would buy it.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

850 cca optima yellow starter wired in parallel with a 1800 amp kinetik battery. Plenty of power! starts like its summer time in the winter

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

lol I have ran alot when the power goes out using my inverter in the trunk. I started the car for about 10 minutes every three hours just to be safe and had no problems at all. This was after last years hurricane that hit the eastern shore. Ran sump pump in basement (which without the inverter would have flooded) , Light, Radio, TV.

That would be nice to have you just put the wheels in motion for a future mod I need to do.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

Have any of you noticed that the bolt to connect the terminal connector to the cable is smaller on the positive side than the negative side?

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

not sure, once i put in my optima yellow I had to change the conenctors anyway because they would not reach the terminals. I went to best buy got two kicker battery termial connectors and added a junction between the short fuse box wire and the positive battery terminal. I used 4 awg wire from the battery to this junction where there is also multiple connections for later accessories. The stock wire to the fuse box is only 8 awg i believe so 4 awg going to the spliter was good enough.

If you decide on your type of battery remember the optimas are AGM batteries which mean they contain no lead acid which leads to no corrossion on the wires/connectors to the battery.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

Mt You're right the positive looks like a 10 mm, and the negative looks like a 12, or 13.
Mandanio the Sears, and the Duralast are also agm which was one of my needs. Since we drive jeeps, and are bound to get a little off axis occasionally.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

I did end up getting the platinum but I would like to replace the positive terminal connector. Having a difficult time locating one that fits.

Re: 2007 WK 3.7L Battery questions?

Congrats MT I think you will be happy with it I don'y worry about much battery wise anymore. Do you just want to change the connector? The original fits mine like normal, or you should be able to get a universal replacement top terminal from the parts store?
