Thanks so much. That part number is what I needed. It seems that the steel replacement ones fit the commander and the Grand Cherokee. Seeing that they are made on the same chassis, it makes sense.

Found the factory skid-shield part # 82208713
It's the plastic one that comes original off the lot.

Cool. It actually turns out that my car has this part already. Since I could open my hood and look down in front of the motor and see the ground wide open in the front, I assumed something was missing. Most of the other models of cars cover that front area, even other year jeeps, but apparently that big open area up front is normal for a wk.
