2008 3.7 engine bay splash sheild

2008 3.7 engine bay splash shield
If your like me your front bolt broke off at the front of the splash shield when you went to change your oil. And then some time after tore through the 3 bolts left and blew off.

Cant find a part # anywhere

Anyone know the part # ?..

Are we talking about that funnel thing that directs the oil when you change the oil filter? Or are we talking about some sort of cover to keep water and stuff from the road out of the engine bay? Like the big plastic cover on the bottom that the liberty has. I cant seem to locate a similar part for the grand cherokee. I know my xj has some sort of splash shield made from a heavy duty tar paper type fabric.

The massive one that keep all the dirt out of the engine bay. Its goes as far back as just passed the oil pan and covers the starter.

Interesting, I dont think I have one on my 2008. But then the lower front valence is missing also. Why cant I find any info on this part online for the grand cherokee? I keep coming up with that part for the liberty and other chrysler products.

You can say that again lol. Same here.

Had an 07 WK that i had done the samething to, and just removed it altogether thinking it served no purpose other than keeping the engine bay clean. Unfortunately, after leaving the car wash the other day i learned otherwise. It also covers your starter and it electrical connectors from the outside elements. Long story short.. i had found that my starters electrical was soaked from the underbody blast wash. To bad i had to find this out after gasing up. Where it would not start back up.

But, what you said does not surprise me. Along the yrs seems it seems 8 out of 10 WK i pass down the road i've noticed one side of the shield hanging down. From what i assume had the same broken bolt issue.

It was a poor design choice by Chrylser.

But with this issue on so many WKs you would think they had come up with some kind of solution, or there would be info on this part out there. .. But i cant seem find it lol .

You might as well get the one made of steel if you are going to replace it. Here is a link on E-Bay.
