2008 3.7 pcv valve

Hey guys.

Okay so i went to change out the pcv valve with my Hanes book. 1. Hanes book explained how the valve was located on the oil filler neck- WRONG. So, after search some threads i located tge valve by the fire wall off my fuel rail. When i went to take the old valve out before taking my deep socket to crack it loose.. i noticed it was halfway out already and i could just finish unscrewing the other half by hand. I screwed the new valve in halfway, like the old valve was. I searched for a few hours on if it was suppose to be lose like the way i had found it and also left the new one, but came up with no answer. So then i searched for torque specs, and also found nothing. Only info on the pcv valve on the oil filler neck.

My question :

Do i tighten down to spec ? (if so, what is the torque spec ?), or leave it halfway screw in place ?..

Anyone else come accross this issue and if so, whar did you decide to do ?

Re: 2008 3.7 pcv valve

I normally tighten them down untill your pretty tight and are into the thread sealant on the pcv valve threads (at least the mopar valves come with pre applied thread sealant)

The new valve did come with pre applied thread sealent. My first thought was to tighten down, but wasent 100% positive, only because, of the way i found the old valve.
