We have a 2008 GC Limited, have had little to no problems, bought brand new. Within the past month, the passengers side AC has quit blowing cold air, blows hot, drivers side seems to be blowing fairly cold air. Has dual-climate control. The blend door that is notorious for going bad in older models SEEMS to be working fine, but this is for the door to move between defrost, floor, upper vents - correct? They all work. What would cause only the passenger side to not work, the AC compressor clutch is working, what/how can i check being just a novice home mechanic?

The dual climate system has two blend doors - one to change the level of airflow, and one to adjust the heat across the passenger and drivers side. There is also the recirc door actuator and the mode door actuator.

The most likely cause for your symptoms is the passenger side blend door actuator. You can get to it through the glovebox.

If that is not the problem, it could be low on refrigerant. Some people report cooling on only one side when the AC needs to be recharged. Keep in mind, it is a closed system - if it has lost refrigerant, it has a leak somewhere. You can recharge it, but that would not fix the root cause.
